Glyptambon verrucosusWaldron Shale FormationShelby County, IN
SilurianHere is, from what I have been told by a number of serious trilobite collectors, one of the top ten North American trilobites ever to be found. This trilobite, Glyptambon verrucosus, measures a whopping 4 5/8" long and is laid out perfectly on a natural piece of matrix with its molted cephalon fossilized next to it. This specimen, as far as I know, is the only known complete Glyptambon of this quality from the Waldron Shale. It has outstanding preservation and also happens to be extremely 3-D. This has to be one of the most sought after trilobites from the Waldron Shale and it so happens that it is also a true museum quality trilobite!!
