Here is probably one of the best preserved and largest shrimp ever to be found in the fossiliferous coal fields of southwestern Indiana. This specimen, Acanthotelson stimpsoni, measures 2" long and is extremely 3-D.  It is fossilized in a lateral view showing the antenna, legs, spiked tail. A true museum piece!!

Here is a rarer type of shrimp that is found in the fossiliferous coal fields of southwestern Indiana. This specimen, Palaeocaris typus, measures 1" long and is also fossilized in a lateral view showing the antenna, legs, and even the intestinal tract.
