Flexicalymene retrorsaDillsboro FormationFranklin County, IN
OrdovicianHere is a superb double specimen of probably the most common trilobite found in Indiana. The Flexicalymene retrorsa is found in numerous road cuts and river outcrops in southeastern Indiana and southwestern Ohio, but very few are found this large and this well preserved. The larger of the 2 trilobites measures 2 1/8" long along the curve while the second trilobite measures 1 1/2" and has some pyritized areas on it. This piece has to be in the top 5% of all Flexicalymene pieces ever found.
