Here is a wonderfully preserved and extremely rare Eurypterid from the fossiliferous coal fields of southwestern Indiana. This specimen, Adelophthalmus sp., measures 1 1/4" long and has some of the walking legs preserved. This  specimen might represent a new species due to the  vertical "bar" found on the head of this specimen.

Here is an extremely rare Eurypterid from the fossiliferous coal fields of southwestern Indiana. This specimen, Adelophthalmus mansfieldi, measures 1 1/4" long and has one of the walking legs preserved.

Here is a small, but wonderfully preserved and extremely rare Eurypterid from the fossiliferous coal fields of southwestern Indiana. This specimen, Adelophthalmus mansfieldi, measures 3/4" long and has one of the paddles preserved, a number of walking legs, and is complete almost to the telson.
