Brachymetopus spinosusEdwardsville FormationMontgomery County, IN
MississippianHere is an outstanding example of an extremely rare trilobite from the crinoid beds of Montgomery County, Indiana. This trilobite, Brachymetopus spinosus, is only known from a handful of specimens. This specimen exhibits superb shell preservation and shows the very pustulose exoskeleton characteristic of this genus. This trilobite measures 3/4" long and is probably the best preserved specimen found.
